Author/ illustrator Bob Conrad is one of the most successful school
assembly presenters and motavational speakers in America today.
Considered an expert on the field of children's entertainment , he
has been a regular columnist in the entertainer's magazines
Laugh Makers since it began publication in 1983, and the
Canadian publication Funny Paper since 2000, and is a much
sought after lecturer on the subject. The author of several
educational books for children including; "Bob Conrad's
Rainforest Animals", "Bob Conrad's Deep Sea Adventure"
and "Bob Conrad's Great Americans".
He has also written several books for the entertainment field
including; "The Puppetry Workshop Manual", " Mouth
Puppets" and "Conrad's Chalk-Talk Cartoons". He wrote the
chapter on puppetry in" The Birthday Party Business" (Picadilly
Books).
A former music instructor, Conrad combines his teaching abilities
with his talents of puppetry, ventriloquism, magic, music, acting and
cartoon drawing to provide schools with programs that are at once
interesting, educational, and entertaining. A craftsman , he builds
his own puppets and props, researches and writes his programs.
The father of 15 children, nine boys and six girls - Bob truly
understands children and knows how to reach them. His love for
children shows in every performance.
Bob Conrad has been performing his entire life. At age 12, he was
performing with the USO at Army bases. At 17 he was a regular on
the WABD-TV program Star Time, along with Connie Frances and
Joe Pesci. He studied and worked with internationally famous
puppeteer Bil Baird. He has been performing in schools for more
than 30 years, and performs more than 400 times each year. I
don't think there is anyone in the field of school assemblies with
more experience than Bob Conrad.
